National Institute of Design (NID), has invited applications for admission to various disciplines of Academic Year 2014-15.

How to Apply?
TO GET YOUR APPLICATION FORM:
A) For General Category:
The application form may be downloaded from website http://www.nid.edu. The completed application forms may be posted to NID/handed over physically with supporting documents and Demand Draft of Rs. 1,500/- drawn on any nationalized bank in favour of ‘National Institute of Design’ payable at Ahmedabad.

Those applying for two disciplines must send two separate application forms along with two separate sets of documents. The application form fee ( Rs. 1,500 / Rs. 750) for rejected applications will not be refunded.

B) For Reserved Category:
The application form may be downloaded from website admissions.nid .edu. The completed application forms may be posted to NID/handed over physically with supporting documents and Demand Draft of Rs. 750/- drawn on any nationalized bank in favour of ‘National Institute of Design’ payable at Ahmedabad. The applicant should also send in an attested copy of the relevant reserved category certificate from competent authority.

Attested copies of Caste/Category Certificates required from Reserved Category Candidates: Reserved category candidates must attach relevant certificates of Caste/ Category as per the Government of India rules/format, otherwise the application form will be rejected.

OBC (Other Backward Class) candidates are required to submit non-creamy layer certificate from Collectorate. PH (Physically Handicapped) candidates are required to submit certificate from the Chief Medical Officer (minimum 40% disability).

Filled in application are to reach  Admissions Office, NID on or before November 2, 2013
Hall Ticket/ Call Letter will be posted by December 09, 2013.

Admission is on the basis of NID’s method of selection, which extends beyond the students previous academic qualifications. The NID Admission Committee systematically seeks evidence of the perception, attitude, aptitude, achievement and motivation essential for a challenging and satisfying design career.

The objective of the tests and the interviews is to ascertain the above qualities. Design Aptitude Test (DAT) shall be conducted at various centres. Based on the scores obtained in these tests, candidates will be shortlisted and called for the second phase. The second phase of the admission procedure will consist of studio tests followed by personal interviews at Ahmedabad, Bengaluru and Gandhinagar.

Call letters for the second phase of the admission procedure will be posted by Monday, March 3, 2014. This information will also be available on NID’s website . All those candidates called for the second phase are required to attend the studio tests and interview, which completes the process of selection.

List of documents to be enclosed with GDPD application form:
•GDPD Hall Ticket (both copies) duly filled in with recent photographs.
•Attested copies of SSC & HSC marksheets (those who are studying presently in HSC, must submit bonafide certificate from the school/ college).
•Attested copy of relevant certificate indicating Date of Birth (Upper age limit as on 1st June, 2014 is 20 years for General category– Relaxable by 3 years for Reserved categories).
•Attested copy of relevant Caste/Category certificate issued by competent authority for SC/ST/PH/OBC non-creamy layer candidates wherever applicable.

List of documents to be enclosed with PGDPD application form:
•PGDPD Hall Ticket (both copies) duly filled in with recent photographs.
•Attested copies of marksheets of SSC, HSC, completed years of Graduation and Degree certificate / Provisional certificate / Passing certificate (those who are studying presently in final year of graduation must submit bonafide certificate from the college).
•Attested copy of relevant certificate indicating Date of Birth (Upper age limit ason 1st June, 2014 is 30 years for General category– Relaxable by 3 years for Reserved categories).
•Attested copy of relevant Caste/Category certificate issued by competent authority for SC/ST/PH/OBC non-creamy layer candidates wherever applicable.
•Attested copies of experience certificate/s, wherever applicable
