CMAT: REGN TILL AUGUST 25

All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) conducts CMAT twice a year for facilitating institutions to select suitable students for admission to all management programmes approved by AICTE.  It has notified the First Common Management Admission Test (CMAT) for admissions to Management Programmes for the academic year 2015-16.
Applicant should be Graduates in any discipline or final year students of Graduate Courses (10+2+3) whose result will be declared before commencement of admission for 2015-16. The Computer based test will be held between September 25th and September 29th 2014 in two slots, from 9.30 am to 12.30 pm and from 2.30 pm to 5.30 pm.

CMAT will be held at Agartala, Ahmedabad, Ahmednagar, Allahabad, Amravati, Amritsar, Aurangabad, Bangalore, Bareilly, Bhavnagar, Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Bhuj, Chandigarh, Chennai, Coimbatore, Davangere, Dehradun, Delhi, Dhanbad, Dharwad, Durgapur, Gulbarga, Gurgaon, Guwahati, Gwalior, Hyderabad, Indore, Jabalpur, Jaipur, Jammu, Jamshedpur, Jodhpur, Kanpur, Kochi, Kolhapur, Kolkata, Kozhikode, Lucknow, Ludhiana, Mangalore, Meerut, Mumbai, Mysore, Nagpur, Nasik, Navi Mumbai, Noida, Panaji, Patna, Pune, Raipur, Rajkot, Ranchi, Shimla, Srinagar, Surat, Trivandrum, Udaipur, Vadodara, Varanasi and Visakhapatnam. Application has to be submitted online and the Registration window for the same will be open till 25th August 2014 at www.aicte-cmat.in.
Test Fee for General/OBC candidates is Rs.1400 + Bank charges as applicable. For SC/ST/PD category candidates, it is Rs.700 + Bank charges as applicable. Payment can be made by Net Banking /Credit / Debit Card, online through www.aicte-cmat.in . It can also be remitted by way of Cash at any branch of State Bank of India, using the challan generated online while registering.
Choice of 3 dates and 3 cities can be given in the order of preference, while registering online. Allotment will be on first come first served. Actual allotment however will be subject to availability of the slots in a particular city.
CMAT will be of 3 hours duration without any break and will have 100 objective type questions from four areas. There will be 25 questions each with maximum of 100 marks from each of the four topics (i) Quantitative Techniques & Data Interpretation (ii) Logical Reasoning (iii) Language Comprehension and (iv) General Awareness. Each correct answer will fetch 4 marks. For each wrong answer given, 1 mark shall be deducted from the score.
At the test venue, the candidate will be seated at a desk with a computer terminal and he/she will be provided with a scratch paper for calculations. After the test, candidate must leave the scratch paper at the desk. Rough work cannot be done on any other paper/sheet, as nothing will be allowed inside the testing room.
Trial test will be made available at http://www.aicte-cmat.in/ from August 10, 2014 for the candidates to have a feel of the online test and navigation functionality. Candidates may go through them carefully to familiarize themselves with the screens, layout, and navigation. There is no sectional cut off in the CMAT examination. All the candidates who appear in the test based on their aptitude towards the management education will be ranked in the order of their merit. T
he objective of the test is not to eliminate the candidates from the process of seeking admission in the AICTE approved management programmes, but to facilitate the institutions to select the suitable candidates as per their merit. Results will be declared on 30.10.2014. Candidates would be able to take the print out of score cards, from 30.10.2014 to 30.11.2014.
For registering for the examination, applicant should have access to a Computer with good Internet connectivity so that there is no breakage of Internet during registration. All the documents related to the qualification should be available at the time of registering as the details therein are to be entered while registering. Applicant will have to upload his/her scanned photo while registering, and so, should keep ready a scanned clear photo taken on a  white background and with size 140 x 160 (60Kb). Applicant will also be required to upload the scanned signature while registering.
Applicant should keep ready, a scanned clear signature done on a white background and with size, 60 x 90 (30Kb). Applicant should also have a valid e-mail id which will be used for at least for the next 6 months. All communication will be done on this e-mail id which will be entered while registering for CMAT exam. Applicant should also have a valid mobile number as all information via SMS will be sent to this number. If the payment is to be done online, applicant should have a valid Credit / Debit card. There should also be a printer connected to the system to print the 3 copies of a Challan in case one is planning to pay fee by cash, at the bank.
Registering for CMAT is a 3 Step process. In step 1, the applicant should read the Instructions and complete the Self Registration. For the first time, one has to enter as ‘NEW USER’. Here the applicant should read the instructions carefully, accept the declaration and proceed. After this, the Self Registration has to be done in which few basic details will have to be entered. This has to be verified before clicking on ‘SUBMIT’ button on this page. Once submitted, data entered on this page cannot be edited. On submitting this page, a unique 6 digit password will be generated. This password will be shown on the computer screen and will be sent to the candidate via e-mail and SMS. For subsequent logins to the registration portal, applicant should proceed as an ‘EXISTING USER’ and login with the e-mail id and this unique 6 digit password. This completes the self registration
Step 2 is the payment Process. Applicant can complete the payment either in the online mode or in the Cash Mode. If planning to have online payment, the applicant can select ‘ONLINE PAYMENT’ mode and then make the payment, using Credit card / Debit card / Net Banking. Once payment is successfully done, applicant will receive a confirmation e-mail and SMS. On receiving the successful payment confirmation, applicant can proceed with the remaining part of registration process.
Applicants can select the option to pay fee by CASH at any of the designated branch of SBI. Once this option is selected, applicant will see a CHALLAN on the screen with his/her details already filled in it. Applicant has to take 3 print outs of this CHALLAN, fill in the details wherever required in all the copies, and go to the nearest SBI bank with cash, on the next day of generation of Challan.
The last date to pay CASH in bank is 26th August, 2014, and registration can be completed by 28th August, 2014. On remitting cash, the bank will return a copy of CHALLAN with their stamp and a JOURNAL number written on it. Applicant should ensure that the JOURNAL number is written clearly and is visible before leaving the bank. After depositing cash and receipt of acknowledgement CHALLAN, applicant needs to wait for 48 hours by which time, the payment will get updated in the registration portal. Applicant will receive an e-mail and SMS confirming that the payment data has got updated in the registration portal.
Applicant should then re-login to the portal and proceed with the remaining part of registration process.
In Step 3, applicant has to fill the remaining part of the form. Once the applicant has filled the complete form, he/she may once again check the complete data entered by clicking on VIEW/MODIFY button. Clicking on VIEW/MODIFY button will allow the candidate to modify the data in case it is to be modified. Once the applicant is sure that all the data entered is accurate, he/she will have to accept a declaration and click on ‘I AGREE’. The system will re-confirm to applicant for SUBMIT. Once confirmed, the form will get finally SUBMITTED and no change in the data is possible after this SUBMIT. Applicant will then see a message on the screen stating ‘Thank you for successfully registering for the AICTE CMAT September, 2014 exam. Please login from 12th September 2014 onwards to download your exam ADMIT CARD. For latest updates, please visit www.aicte-cmat.in’  Applicant can click on PREVIEW button to view his/her filled form. Applicant may PRINT the filled form and keep a copy for future reference. This completes the registration process.
