Applications
in the prescribed form are invited by North-Eastern Hill University for
admission to the courses of study in the North-Eastern Hill University for the
academic session commencing from August, 2013.
The courses offered are as indicated
below:-
TURA CAMPUS:
1.
M.A. in (Arts) History and Archaeology.
2.
M.Sc. Horticulture.
3.
MFA Food and Agri-Business Management
4.
M.C.A. Computer Application
Eligibility for Admission:
1. M.A in History & Archaeology:
Student should have studied History/Ancient Indian History, Culture and
Archaeology/Ancient History/ Archaeology at Under-Graduate level from a
recognised University/Institute with a minimum of 50% marks and 5% will be relaxed
for SC/ST candidates.
2. M.Sc. in Horticulture: B.Sc.(Hort.),
B.Sc.(Agri.) from a recognized University/Institution with a minimum of 55%
marks in aggregate and 5% will be relaxed for SC/ST candidates (or equivalent
OGPA marks).
3. Master in Food and Agri-Business
Management (MFA): A bachelor’s degree in Life Science, Zoology, Botany,
Chemistry, Applied Chemistry, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Food Preservation,
Agriculture, food Technology or any graduate in Agricultural
Science/Technology/animal Husbandry from any recognized University/Institution
with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate and 5% will be relaxed for SC/ST
candidates. Those appearing in the final examination and expecting their result
by July 15, 2013 may also apply. Eligible candidates need to appear in any of
the MAT Tests (May, September, December 2012 and February 2013). Candidates who
are willing to take admission in the MFA programme are required to fill up the
NEHU application form enclosing their respective MAT Score.
4. Master in Computer Application (MCA):
The candidate should have a Bachelor Degree from a recognised
University/Institution with mathematics at 10+2 level or at graduation having
50% marks in aggregate (45% marks in case of SC/ST candidates). Candidates
having passed computer science or computer applications at the degree level
will have the additional benefit of 5% of their marks.

Prescribed
application forms with Prospectus can be obtained in person from the
Receptionist, Administrative Building, Permanent Campus,
Shillong-
793022 or from the office of the Pro-Vice Chancellor, NEHU Tura Campus,
Chandmari, Tura – 794002 during office hours on payment of
Rs.
220/- (for General category of students)/Rs. 600/-(for General category of
students for MFA and MCA) and Rs.110/- (for SC/ST category
of
students)/Rs. 300/- (for SC/ST category of students for MFA and MCA) through
University Challan/Banker’s Cheque/Bank Draft drawn in favour of “North Eastern
Hill University”.
Request
for application forms and Prospectus by post should be addressed to the Section
Officer (Academic), NEHU, Permanent Campus, Shillong-793022 accompanied by a
self-addressed envelope of 30cm x25cm affixing Rs.40/- stamp thereon and
enclosing Demand Draft of Rs. 220/- (for General category of students)/Rs.
600/-(for General category of students for MFA and MCA) and Rs.110/- (for SC/ST
category of students)/Rs. 300/- (for SC/ST category of students for MFA and
MCA).
The
admission form may also be downloaded from NEHU Website www.nehu.ac.in and filled in application form along with the
Demand Draft of the amount can be sent to the Head of respective department.
Duly
filled-in Application forms for Master Courses are to be submitted to the Head
of respective Department, NEHU, Tura Campus, P.O. Chandmari, West Garo Hills,
Tura, Meghalaya – 794 002 on or before 17th July, 2013.
