Applications
have been invited by Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences (MGIMS),
Sevagram, Wardha, Maharashtra-442012, for admission to MBBS course for the academic
year 2013-14 at the Institute.
Even
though NEET (UG) examination has been announced by the Central Board of
Secondary Education and Medical Council of India, for admission to MBBS Course
for the academic year 2013-14 for all Medical Colleges, MGIMS, Sevagram has
been granted a stay by the Nagpur Bench of Bombay High Court of Judicature.
Applications
are now invited by MGIMS, Wardha, in view of the stay order issued by the
Nagpur Bench of Bombay High court, says the advertisement at http://www.mgims.ac.in/ The admission is subject to any direction
given by the Supreme Court of India, Bombay High Court, Maharashtra University
of Health Sciences, Nashik and the Medical Council of India, Central Govt.
& Government of Maharashtra.
Selection
to MBBS would be as per the merit in the Entrance Examination to be conducted
by MGIMS at Nagpur, Delhi, Hyderabad Mumbai, Varanasi & Kolkata on 21st
April 2013.
Applicant
must attain 17 years of age on or before 31st December, 2013. Applicant must
have passed the 12th Standard examination under the 10+2 system of Maharashtra
State Higher Secondary Education Board or equivalent examination of any
recognised Board or any Indian University with English, Physics, Chemistry and
Biology individually in each subject in one and the same attempt and must have
obtained minimum 50% marks (40% in the case of SC/ ST/ VJ/ NT/ OBC) taken
together in Physics, Chemistry and Biology. Those who are going to appear in
10+2 Higher Secondary Board Examination in March / April 2013 are also eligible
to appear in the competitive Entrance Examination.
The
Entrance Examination has two papers, each of 3 hours duration. Paper I will be common question paper
consisting of 180 multiple choice questions from Physics, Chemistry and Biology
with 60 questions from each subject. Paper II will be on Gandhian Thought and
will carry 60 marks. The questions on Gandhian Thought will be of long and
short answer type.
The
Prospectus & Application Form will be available up to 5th March, 2013.
Prospectus and Application Form along with the syllabus, model question papers
of Physics Chemistry and Biology and question papers of Gandhian thought for
the last 5 years, can be had from the office of the Dean of the Institute, either by paying a sum of
Rs 4000/- (including exam fee) personally at the cash counter of Account
Section in premises of Administrative Complex of KHS and MGIMS or by remitting
a sum of Rs 4000/- (including exam fee) at any branch of State Bank of India by
Challan which is available at the link

detailed instructions in this regard are available at the website. Applicant
should click the link of the bank challan, fill the information required and
submit it. Applicant should mention full name address with pin code number on
which he/she wants to receive the Prospectus. Phone number for communication
should be given in the space provided on the challan form. The candidate is
required to take a printout of the saved copy of the Challan, in landscape on
legal size paper and remit the required amount at a branch of State Bank of
India.
The
Challan form has three copies and the candidate has to send one original copy
of the challan form obtained from the bank after the payment is made, to the
‘Dean, Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences, Sevagram, 442102’, by
Speed Post. The Prospectus will be sent to the candidate on receipt of the copy
of the challan stamped by the bank, when payment is made.
Candidates
should go through the Prospectus carefully for eligibility criteria, scheme,
pattern of examination etc; before contacting the Institute for any queries.
Queries pertaining to eligibility and other issues will be entertained only if
the information requested is not given in Prospectus.
Incomplete
applications or applications not in accordance with instructions will not be
considered and are liable to be rejected. The examination fee will not be
refunded in such cases. The last date of receipt of filled up application is
15th March, 2013. The fee structure in MGIMS is as applicable to the Govt.
Medical Colleges in Maharashtra State. The Institute does not have any paid
seats.
Total
seats available for admission are 100. The admissions on the increased seats
for the year 2013-14 are subject to the renewal of permission from Medical
Council of India. Of the total 100 seats, 4, 2 and 2 seats are set apart under
Central Pool Seats for Govt. of India, Govt. of Maharashtra and Kasturba Health
Society respectively. The remaining 92 seats are classified as Maharashtra
seats and Non-Maharashtra seats. There are 16 seats (Yearly rotation of 1 seat
among Maharashtra and Non Maharashtra), in General Category as Maharashtra
seats and 15 seats under General category as Non-Maharashtra seats.
