ER&DCI-IT
is the manpower development and training arm of Centre for Development ofAdvanced
Computing (C-DAC), Thiruvananthapuram, an autonomous institution whollyowned by
Department of Electronics and Information Technology, Government of India.
The
Centre, formerly known as Electronics Research & Development Centre of
India (ER&DCI), is engaged in a variety of research, design and development
activities in advanced areas of Electronics. Since its inception in 1974, the
Centre has acquired high competency, expertise and experience in there as of
VLSI - ASIC, Embedded Systems, Control & Instrumentation, Networking,
Broadcast &Communications, Power Electronics, Cyber-Forensics, Language Technologies,
etc. with extensive on-site deployment of its technology outputs, and
Transfer-of-Technologies for manufacture of the products developed.
The
campus at Vellayambalam, in the heart of Thiruvananthapuram city was formally
dedicatedto the nation on 10th November 1980, as a National Centre of Excellence
by Smt. Indira Gandhi, then Prime Minister of India. ER&DCI-IT was started
in 2001 with a mission to groom and nurture internationally competitive professionals,
empowering them with state-of-the-art skillets in Electronics, Communications
and IT.
Affiliated
to the nationally renowned Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT)
anda pproved by All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE), the Institute
has a well organized team of faculty members, highly qualified and with a track
record of achievements; with eminent contributions in their fields. Besides,
distinguished Guest Lecturers enhance the student’s knowledge and practical
design skills. Other facilities include well-equipped, air conditioned class
rooms and laboratories with advanced facilities, including full-time high-speed
Internet access. The technical library has more than 25,000 books, periodicals,
reports and e-documents etc. to enable students keep abreast with the latest
developments.
ER&DCI-IT
offers two MTech programmes : (1) Cyber Forensics & Information Security
and (2)VLSI & Embedded Systems
Eligibility for M.Tech in Cyber Forensics
& Information Security
B.E/B.Tech
degree in Computer Science/ Information Technology/ Electronics &
Communications/Electronics & Instrumentation of a recognized University,
with a minimum of 55% marks for Students with valid Gate Score and 60% marks
for students without valid Gate Score.
Eligibility for M.Tech in VLSI &
Embedded Systems
B.E/B.Tech
degree in Electronics & Communications/ Electronics & Instrumentation/
Electrical& Electronics/ Biomedical Instrumentation of a recognized
University, with a minimum of 55%marks for Students with valid Gate Score and
60% marks for students without valid GateScore, with an aptitude and interest
in electronics hardware design
Batch Strength Eighteen seats in each
branch
Selection : Admission is primarily
based on valid GATE Score. For remaining unfilled seats, if any, Departmental
Admission Test (DAT) is conducted for students who do not have valid GATE Score
and those who have not appeared for GATE examination. For those seats admission
will be on the basis of the DAT rank list.
