Applications
have been invited by Indian Institute of Technology, Guwahati for admission to
MA in Development Studies programme, to start from July 2013.
Eligibility for Regular MA Candidates:
A
Bachelor’s (10+2+3) degree (Major / Honours) or equivalent from a recognized
University, in any discipline, with a
minimum of 50% marks or 5.5 CPI in a 10-point scale (45% marks or 5.0 CPI in a
10-point scale for SC / ST / PD candidates) in major / honours only
OR
Candidates
not having Major / Honours courses, must have the concerned degree with a
minimum 50% aggregate marks or 5.5 CPI in a 10-point scale for General / OBC
category candidates and a minimum 45% aggregate marks or 5.0 CPI in a 10-point
scale for SC / ST / PD category candidates.
Eligibility for Sponsored (Full-Time) MA
Candidates:
Same
as for `Regular’ candidates, but also fulfilling additional conditions
specified for Sponsored (Full-Time) candidates, as indicated under 'Categories of Students for MA Programme'.
Candidates
still to appear in their qualifying degree examinations may also apply,
provided they appear in all their qualifying degree examinations and complete
all requirements for their degrees before 17-07-2012. If selected, such candidates
shall be admitted provisionally, and they will have to furnish the results of
their qualifying degree examinations latest by 31-08-2012. Further, they must
fulfil the minimum requirements of marks / CPI, and all other conditions as
mentioned under eligibility criteria for admission in to the programme.

After getting the print-out of Online
Application Form, you may:
(a) affix your passport-size photograph at the
assigned portion of the print-out of your filled-up Online Application Form;
(b) put your signature with date on the print-out
of your filled-up Online Application Form; and
(c)
enclose attested copies of all relevant documents
If a
candidate is shortlisted and called to appear in Written Test and/or Interview,
he/she should immediately arrange a Demand Draft for Rs.150/- (Rs.75/- for SC /
ST / PD candidates), from any nationalized bank, in favour of Indian Institute
of Technology Guwahati, payable at Guwahati.
Such
a candidate, on the day of the Written Test and/or Interview, will have to
submit the original Demand Draft, along with other documents listed above, in
the department/centre in which he/she is applying for admission
Starting
of online application process from 10.00 am of 25 March 2013 onwards.
Closing
of online application process by 5.00 pm of 23 April 2013
