VIT Engg. Entrance from April 15


Applications have been invited by Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT), for admission to B.Tech Programmes of Academic Year 2013-14 through VIT Engineering Entrance Examination (VITEEE-2013) scheduled to be conducted from 15.04.2013 to 30.04.2013



B.Tech. Programmes offered at Vellore Campus: Bioinformatics,Bio-Medical Engg, Biotechnology Civil Engg,Computer Science and Engg,Electronics and Communication Engg,Electrical and Electronics Engg,Electronics and Instrumentation Engg,Information Technology,Mechanical Engg,Mechanical ( Spec. in Automotive Engg), Mechanical (Spec. in Chemical Process Engg.), Mechanical (Spec. in Energy Engg).

B. Tech. Programmes offered at Chennai Campus: Civil Engg,Computer Science and Engg,Electronics and Communication Engg, Electrical and Electronics Engg, Mechanical Engg

Eligibility:
1. Nationality:
The applicant for admission should be a Resident / Non Resident Indian National.

2. Qualifying Examination:
Candidates appearing for the VITEEE-2013 should have either completed or shall be appearing in 2013, in any one of the following qualifying examinations:

The final examination of the 10+2 system of Higher Secondary Examination conducted by the State Board;Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE, New Delhi); The Council for Indian School Certificate Examination (ISCE, New Delhi).

Intermediate or Two-year Pre-University Examination conducted by a recognized Board/ University. High School Certificate Examination of the Cambridge University or International Baccalaureate Diploma of the International Baccalaureate Office, Geneva.

General Certificate Education (GCE) examination (London/Cambridge/Srilanka) at the Advanced (A) level. Candidates who have studied in Regular, Full time and Formal Education are alone eligible to apply.

Eligibility Criteria in the Qualifying Examination: Candidates appearing for the VITEEE in 2013 should have secured an aggregate of 60% in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics/ Biology in the qualifying examination (+2/Intermediate).

The average marks obtained in the subjects Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics or Biology (PCM / PCB) in +2 (or its equivalent) put together should be 50% for the following categories:
Candidates belonging to SC/ST.

Candidates hailing from Jammu and Kashmir and the North Eastern states of Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim and Tripura.

Admission Procedure: The admission will be purely on the basis of the marks secured in the VITEEE-2013, conducted by VIT University. Candidates who have not appeared for the VITEEE are not eligible for admission. The candidates will be short-listed based on their entrance examination marks and will be called for the counselling.

Application Forms: Issue of Application Forms - Online: Candidates can also apply online at https://academics.vit.ac.in/online_application/viteee2013/home.asp through the following mode :
(i) Net banking /Credit card/Debit card
(ii) DD mode (online applicants need to pay Rs. 900/- only).

It is mandatory that the online applicants should send the hard copy of the application form addressed to the “Director-UG Admissions”, VIT University, Vellore-632014.

Issue of Application Forms - OMR : The Prospectus and the information brochure for the B.Tech. programme, along with the necessary enclosures which include the Application Form and a printed self-addressed envelope, can be obtained against cash payment of  Rs. 950/- from the various post offices as given in the VIT website: www.vit.ac.in

Candidates can obtain the application form in person from the
(i) VIT University, Vellore Campus
(ii) VIT University, Chennai Campus
(iii) Chennai Administrative Office, New No. 6, (Old No. W-73), Second Street (Opposite Towers Club), Anna Nagar, Chennai – 600 040 (Phone: 044-42016555, 65480555, Fax: 044-26222555), by handing over a Demand Draft for Rs.950/- drawn in favour of ‘VIT University’, payable at Vellore.

Candidates can also obtain the application form through post by sending a Demand Draft for  Rs. 950/-drawn in favour of ‘VIT University’, payable at Vellore, with a covering letter addressed to “Director - UG Admissions”, VIT University, Vellore-632014, requesting for the application form and indicating their complete postal address. On receipt of the DD, the application form with the enclosures will be sent by post. The postal charges will be borne by the Institute. Candidates should write their name, Mobile Number and address on the reverse of the DD.

Application should be sent through either by Registered Post or Speed Post in the self-addressed envelope provided by VIT so as to reach the any of the following offices positively on or before February 28, 2013.
